The Impact of Queueing Disciplines on Network Power

Routers allocate bandwidth and buffer space according to queueing disciplines. The Power function includes two of the most important performance metrics: throughput and delay, The Connection Lab is studying the Power function by analyzing different queueing disciplines and investigating their optimal operating points. We are also studying a queueing discipline to achieve different requirements, such as differentiated services or fairness while maintaining high performance.
