Internet Research Initiative

The IRI supports research that addresses aspects of technology development, social trends or problems, ethics, and/or justice relating to the internet.

The goal is to encourage projects that help us better understand the intersections between technology and society, so that we might envision a more ethical and equitable relationship to Internet technologies as they progress into future. Prize winners benefit from an intellectual environment with fellow prize awardees, dedicated lab space, and mentoring with faculty and outside experts. Their research year culminates in a final presentation of their findings. For past showcases, see the Events section of the IRI website.
