Professor Rafail Ostrovsky

Rafail “Rafi” Ostrovsky is a distinguished professor of computer science and mathematics at UCLA. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and The International Association for Cryptologic Research, and a member of Academia Europaea. Dr. Ostrovsky has authored more than 300 publications and has been issued 14 U.S. patents. He chaired the IEEE Technical Committee on Mathematical Foundations of Computing from 2015 to 2018, and served as a chair of the FOCS 2011 program committee. He is the associate editor of the Journal of the ACM, the Journal of Cryptology, and Algorithmica. Among his many honors, he received the 1993 Henry Taub Prize; the 2017 IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement Award, and the 2018 RSA Conference Excellence in the Field of Mathematics Award.
